Terms of sale and use
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These terms of sale and use (“Terms”) govern access to escapegamebook.com and the purchase of the subscriptions offered by Escape Game Book (“we”), reachable at contact@escapegamebook.com. Using the site or placing an order implies full acceptance of these Terms.
- Configuring a book and viewing its summary are free and need no account; generating the complete book requires a plan.
- A book costs 1 credit per page. Unused credits accumulate as long as the plan is active.
- Prices are in euros including VAT. Payment is secured by Stripe; we never store card data.
- Plans renew automatically and can be cancelled online at any time, effective at the end of the paid period.
- You own the generated books and may publish or sell them; proofread them before publishing.
- You have a 14-day right of withdrawal, except for credits already used at your express request.
This summary is provided for readability only; only the clauses below are contractually binding.
1. Purpose and scope
The Terms define the rights and obligations of Escape Game Book and of anyone using the site (“the user”, “you”), whether they browse the site, create a free preview or subscribe to a paid plan.
The service is intended for consumers and professionals alike (authors, KDP publishers, teachers, event organisers). Provisions specific to consumers (right of withdrawal, legal warranty of conformity, mediation) apply only to natural persons acting for purposes outside their trade or profession.
The applicable Terms are those in force on the day of the order. We may amend them; the current version is dated at the top of the page and subscribers are informed by email of any substantial change at least 30 days before it takes effect. A subscriber who refuses it may cancel free of charge before that date.
2. Description of the service
Escape Game Book generates, with artificial intelligence and from the parameters chosen by the user (level, puzzle style, language, visual style, number of pages, title and description), complete escape game books: a storyline in chapters, chained puzzles, solutions pages, one illustration per page, cover proposals, an Amazon KDP listing sheet and a print-ready PDF file.
Configuring a book and viewing its summary (“free preview”) require neither an account nor a payment. Generating the complete book requires an account and a plan with enough credits: a book costs 1 credit per page, for 40 to 160 pages.
The content is produced by generative AI models. Despite automatic checks, it may contain errors, inconsistencies or inaccuracies. The user remains responsible for proofreading and validating the book before any use, publication or sale.
The service is available continuously, subject to maintenance operations and outages of third-party providers (AI models, hosting, payment). A recent browser and an Internet connection are required; no software needs to be installed.
3. User account
An account is opened by signing in with Google or Microsoft; we store no password. The user must be of legal age, or have the permission of their legal guardian, and provide accurate information.
The account is personal. The user is responsible for keeping their access credentials confidential and for any activity carried out from their account. They inform us without delay of any unauthorised use at contact@escapegamebook.com.
We may suspend or close an account in the event of a breach of the Terms, fraud, abusive use of the service or unlawful use, after notification by email except in urgent cases. The user may request the deletion of their account at any time.
4. Plans, prices and credits
The plans (Basic, Pro, Expert) are described on the Pricing page. Each plan grants, per monthly or yearly period, a number of credits and features (black and white books, colour books, books over 100 pages).
Prices are shown in euros, all taxes included. An indicative amount in US dollars may be displayed for information; billing is done in euros and the amount charged may vary with the exchange rate and the fees applied by your bank. Prices may change at any time; a new price applies to current plans only at their next renewal, after informing the subscriber by email at least 30 days in advance.
Credits are granted at the start of each subscription period. Unused credits are kept and accumulate as long as the plan is active. They are lost when the plan expires or is cancelled and can be neither refunded, converted into money nor transferred to a third party.
A book’s credits are debited when its generation is launched. If generation fails for a reason attributable to us, the credits are refunded automatically or on request at contact@escapegamebook.com.
5. Ordering and payment
Subscribing is done online: choose the plan and billing period, check the summary, then pay securely by card through our provider Stripe. The order is final once payment is validated; a confirmation email is sent and the credits are available immediately.
We store no card data: it is processed exclusively by Stripe, which is PCI DSS certified. If a renewal charge fails, access to paid features is suspended until the situation is resolved.
Invoices are available at any time under My invoices.
6. Term, renewal and cancellation
The plan is taken out for one month or one year depending on the chosen billing period and renews tacitly for the same duration, by automatic charge, unless cancelled.
The subscriber may cancel at any time, free of charge and without justification, from the My subscription page (online cancellation feature provided for by article L215-1-1 of the French Consumer Code) or by email to contact@escapegamebook.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid; credits remain usable until that date and are then lost.
For yearly plans, in accordance with article L215-1 of the French Consumer Code, we inform the subscriber by email of the possibility not to renew the contract, no earlier than three months and no later than one month before the end of the current period.
We may discontinue the service with 30 days’ notice; paid and unused periods are then refunded pro rata.
7. Right of withdrawal
In accordance with articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, consumers have 14 days from subscribing to exercise their right of withdrawal, without giving a reason, by writing to contact@escapegamebook.com or using the model below. The refund is made within 14 days of receiving the request, using the same payment method.
Generating a book is the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, whose performance begins immediately. By launching a generation during the withdrawal period, the user expressly requests immediate performance of the service and acknowledges losing their right of withdrawal for the credits so used (article L221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code). Unused credits remain refundable in the event of withdrawal within the period.
Model withdrawal form: “To Escape Game Book (contact@escapegamebook.com): I hereby give notice that I withdraw from the contract for the Escape Game Book subscription ordered on [date]. Name, account email address, date.”
8. Intellectual property and generated content
The site, its brand, logo, texts, code and design are protected and remain our property or that of our partners. Any unauthorised reproduction is prohibited.
The user retains the rights to the elements they provide (title, description, ideas). They grant us a non-exclusive, free licence to process them for the sole purpose of generating their book and warrant that they do not infringe third-party rights.
We assign to the user, to the extent permitted by law, all rights we may hold in the books generated at their request (texts, puzzles, illustrations, covers, KDP sheet). The user may freely reproduce, publish, print, sell and adapt them, under their sole responsibility. They are informed that AI-generated content may not be protected by copyright in some countries and that similar content may be generated for other users.
Unless expressly refused at contact@escapegamebook.com, we may show covers and pages of generated books as examples, without disclosing the user’s identity.
9. Prohibited uses
It is prohibited to use the service to produce content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, violent, pornographic, infringing, harmful to real persons or inciting illegal activities; to circumvent technical or credit limits; to resell access to the service; to extract or mass-reproduce the site’s content; to disrupt its operation.
We reserve the right to refuse or interrupt a generation and to suspend the account in the event of a breach, without refunding the credits used on that occasion.
10. Warranties and liability
Consumers benefit from the legal warranty of conformity applicable to digital content and services (articles L224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and from the warranty against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code).
We use reasonable means to provide a quality service, but do not warrant that generated books will be free of errors, fit for a particular purpose, or commercially successful. The generation times indicated (usually a few hours) are indicative.
We cannot be held liable for indirect damages, loss of revenue or the consequences of the use of generated books (printing, publication, sale on third-party platforms such as Amazon KDP, whose rules are the user’s sole responsibility). Towards professionals, and except in the event of gross negligence or bodily injury, our liability is limited to the amounts paid over the last twelve months.
We are not liable for outages attributable to our third-party providers or to force majeure within the meaning of article 1218 of the French Civil Code.
11. Personal data
The processing of personal data is described in our privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
12. Complaints and consumer mediation
Any complaint can be sent to contact@escapegamebook.com. We undertake to answer within 15 business days.
In accordance with articles L611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, if no amicable solution is found within two months of a written complaint, the consumer may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator we have joined; their details are provided on request at contact@escapegamebook.com and included in our reply to any complaint.
13. Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties first seek an amicable solution. Failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction; consumers may bring the case, at their choice, before one of the courts with territorial jurisdiction under the French Code of Civil Procedure or the court of the place where they lived when the contract was concluded.
If a clause of the Terms is declared void or unenforceable, the other clauses remain in full force.
